Locations
Lindsey Wilson's main campus is located on more than 78
partially wooded acres on a hilltop in Columbia, which is in the
Kentucky Heartland - a region synonymous with outdoor recreation,
camping, boating and hiking. Lindsey Wilson is near several major
Kentucky tourist attractions: Lake Cumberland, one of the largest
man-made lakes in the world; Mammoth Cave, one of the Seven Wonders
of the World; Green River Lake and Reservoir; and Cumberland Falls,
Kentucky's highest waterfall and the only spot in the Western
Hemisphere that produces a "moonbow."
Columbia, the county seat of Adair County, has a population of
about 4,500. Adair County's primary industry is agriculture and
light manufacturing. Columbia offers students a variety of shops,
restaurants, churches and a nostalgic one-screen movie theater
located on its downtown square within walking distance from campus.
It also provides an appealing small-town charm, yet is only a
one-hour drive from Bowling Green, Kentucky; a two-hour drive from
Louisville or Lexington, Kentucky; or a two-hour drive from
Nashville, Tennessee.
