Computer Information Systems (AA)
The Associate of Arts degree in Computer
Information Systems (CIS) provides a foundation for a career in the
business use of computing technology. The coursework includes
a broad cross section of computer and
technology-related
courses, such as, programming, hardware and software management,
networking, web development, and database development.
Graduates will be equipped for an entry-level position in a variety
of technology-based businesses.
Program Distinctions
The LWC CIS program allows considerable flexibility for students
and contains courses that undergo nearly constant revision in order
to remain current with the rapidly changing demands of the
workplace. The A.A. degree program is designed to easily
combine with the four-year degree programs in Business as well as
other programs across the campus such as math and the
sciences. Integrated with a liberal arts foundation and a
number or core business courses the program is designed to develop
students analytic and decision making skills as well as technical
capabilities.
