Why choose Education?
Teaching is one of the most interesting, challenging, and
rewarding professions. Not only do you share your knowledge with
young people, but you can contribute to society by educating the
next generation. Teachers' roles are not simple. They are
instrumental in influencing the personal, social, and intellectual
lives of their students. If you are a caring and passionate person
who wants to make a difference in students' lives, teaching is for
you.
Just imagine a classroom in which you decide how to relay
knowledge to your students. The classroom is your stage, and you
can make learning fun by using creative and innovative strategies
to help meet your students' needs. Your students are eager to learn
and are engaged in classroom activities. If you can envision
yourself in this role, teaching is for you.
Teachers are culturally responsive to student needs and teach in
different ways with different strategies to make lessons easy to
understand. They plan ahead and tie classroom lessons to real-life
experiences.
Lindsey Wilson education graduates are among the most sought-after
education candidates in Kentucky. That's because principals and
superintendents know that Lindsey Wilson graduates are held to the
highest professional standards and are prepared as educators.
As an example, for the last three years, a Lindsey Wilson
education graduate received the Professional Development Award from
the Kentucky Association of Teacher Educators. The award is given
annually to the outstanding education graduate from colleges and
universities in Kentucky.
Lindsey Wilson's Education Division is accredited by the Kentucky
Education Professional Standards Board (EPSB) and is seeking
national accreditation through NCATE. The program is distinguished
by the theme "Teacher as Leader for the 21st Century," and is
committed to helping every student, every day.
