Humanities
The study of the humanities involves a broad
range of knowledge related to human thought and culture. At
Lindsey Wilson College, the minor in
humanities provides a well-rounded perspective of the human
experience through the close study of art, literature, history,
music, folklore, and communication.
Program Distinctions
The humanities curriculum challenges students to develop a
better understanding of the human condition through critical
reading, writing, and thinking. Within the interdisciplinary
approach, students are challenged with questions surrounding
aesthetic, intellectual, and moral ideas of the past and
present.
Why choose Humanities?
Almost all employers value employees who have problem-solving
skills. A humanities background is valued in professions that
require a broad range of knowledge, critical thinking, and
excellent communication skills. Students who study the humanities
can enhance their career aspirations in areas such as
communication, arts administration, non-profit management,
religion, law, education, and journalism.
