If you still enjoy making music, then The Lindsey Wilson College Blue Raider Band is the place for you!

In the Fall of 2010, Lindsey Wilson College had its first-ever Marching Band! In addition, the band performs winter and spring concerts, as well as for campus and community events. The band rehearses three afternoons a week for an hour and a half. Band earns one college credit per semester. The credit may be used as an elective in any degree program.

Membership in the Blue Raider Band is open to all students (auditions are not required).

Band grants and performance scholarships are also available, by audition, to any Lindsey Wilson student, regardless of major. To facilitate the awarding process, students are encouraged to complete the Free Application For Student Aid (FAFSA) from as soon as possible.

AUDITION DATES FOR 2011 (LWC main Campus 9:00am-3:00pm)

• January 28, 2012*
• February 18, 2012
• March 24, 2012*
• April 28, 2012*

*Arrangements can be made for alternate audition date if necessary.

Audition requirements for Band Grants and Performance Scholarships:

Winds:

• Chromatic scale demonstrating your practical range
• Several major scales of your choice
• Short exercise/excerpt demonstrating your technical and musical ability

Percussion:

• Demonstration of rudiments and/or scales
• Short exercise/excerpt demonstrating technical and musical ability
