In the fall of 2010,
the LWC Blue Raider marching band will take the field for the first
time in the history of the college. To prepare for this
momentous occasion in the life of the college, LWC needed a top
notch band director to take the reigns of the program.
Fortunately for us, we didn't have to look very far.
Tim Allen, Adair County's former Band
Director, retired and begins a new adventure as the Band Director
at Lindsey Wilson College. Under his past leadership, the
Adair County Marching Band achieved both statewide and national
prominence. A few of his accompishments while at the helm of
the Adair County program include:
- 18 state marching championships in its class, including 10
consecutive wins starting in 1986.
- Bands of America Class A National Champion in 2005 and
2007.
- In 2007 became the first Class A band to ever be named a BOA
Overall Regional Champion.
- Appeared and Performed in the 2009 Macy's Thanksgiving Day
Parade.
