Topic Proposals to All Members of the
Lindsey Wilson College Community
Submit your
suggestion online by October 1, 2010.
As part of the SACS reaffirmation process,
Lindsey Wilson College must submit to the Commission a
proposal to improve student learning. The SACS
Leadership Team invites all members of the Lindsey Wilson community
- faculty, students, and staff - to submit suggestions
by OCTOBER 1 for a plan to enhance
student learning. The plan is called a Quality
Enhancement Plan (QEP).
What is SACS?
Lindsey Wilson College
is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern
Association of Schools and Colleges (1866 Southern Lane, Decatur
Georgi 30033-4097; Telephone number 404-679-4501) to award
associate, baccalaureate and masters degrees.
What should I know about QEPs?
- A QEP (Quality Enhancement Plan) must focus on an issue
directly related to student learning.
- The topic must be significant but something that the
institution can effectively implement.
- The topc will be a focus of attention and resources for five or
more years.
Who can submit QEPs?
Any member of the College community.
What have other colleges done?
Examples include strengthening the general education
curriculum, developing creative approaches to experiential
learning, enhancing critical thinking skills, introducing
innovative teaching and learning strategies, increasing student
engagement in learning, writing across the curriculum,
globalization of the curriculum, sustainability and exploring
imaginative ways to use technology in the curriculum.
