Criminal Justice

The mission of the Criminal Justice program is to prepare students for careers and further study in the three main substantive areas of criminal justice: policing, courts and corrections.

The Criminal Justice program provides a bachelor of arts degree in Criminal Justice as well as a minor in Criminal Justice. The program is designed to prepare graduates for careers in the three main substantive areas of Criminal Justice: policing, courts, and corrections. The program is also appropriate for students who plan to attend graduate schools in Criminal Justice or Law.

Program Distinctions

The Criminal Justice program at Lindsey Wilson allows students to specialize in three distinct fields: law criminal-justice.jpgenforcement, the courts, and corrections.  Lindsey Wilson is able to offer these specialties because of the diverse range of experience and expertise our faculty bring to the program.  Also, prior to graduation, all Criminal Justice majors undergo a semester-long internship program that exposes them to their field of interest and gives them valuable on-site training and experience.

The purpose of the Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Lindsey Wilson College is to fully prepare students for success in law school, law enforcement, or corrections. Cited as one of the fastest growing career fields of the next decade, a person with a Criminal Justice degree can be assured longevity and security in the many employment options that exist for the program graduates. This newly emerging field of study has led Lindsey Wilson to develop this major. It is one of only two Criminal Justice programs offered in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
