second by Ben Burr with all in favor.

III.       Pres. Jessee asked Randy to share the Informational Items

  1. Review of LWC summer area events in Bowling Green and Louisville - both events had wonderful participation.  The Alumni Office looks forward to offering other area events in the future in middle Tennessee and central Kentucky.
  2. BRTC - San Francisco (Sept. 21-26) - 27 alumni and friends traveling in the group
  3. Randy shared that the LWC Alumni & Friends Scramble - Aug. 22 at The Pines at Lindsey Wilson was a success.  There were 8 teams that participated and we hope to expand on that next year.
  4. Randy reviewed schedule of events for Homecoming  and encouraged Council members to participate as many events as possible.
  5. Update on the Alumni & Friends Walkway Scholarship Fund
    1. Current Amount in Fund - $43,121.25 ($150 increase since last meeting)
    2. We have not been able to start replacing the bricks on the Walkway yet, but are close to completing the "mapping" process which will allow us to place the large order. Then, the LWC Plant Department will begin the replacement process this fall.
  6. Update on the LWC Theatre Season Schedule
    1. Vanities (Oct. 21-23), Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (Oct. 28-30 and Nov 1), Agnes of God (Nov.), The Town Mouse and The Country Mouse (Nov.), and a Holiday Cabaret Dec. 3-4).
    2. Complete Spring Schedule is in the brochure.
    3. If you are interested in becoming a Friend of Lindsey Wilson Theatre, please let me know.
  7. Randy shared big news about the upcoming Chair's Challenge 2015 on Oct. 21-22.  This fundraising campaign was a huge success last year and the Development Office looks to have an even more successful event this year.  Randy encouraged all Council members to participate in the campaign with a gift of any amount and encourage classmates and friends to do likewise. This year's goal is 500 donors for $50,000.  In addition to the Chairman's initial challenge, however, other alumni have stepped forward with supplemental challenges to help grow the campaign, including a $25,000 challenge for 250 young alumni donors (classes of 2000-2016).
  8. Randy announced the Sr. Class/Golden Alumni Class Gift Project for the current school year - a Victory Bell Tower to be placed on the campus quadrangle.  The Council members were very excited about the project and shared stories of how the bell was used when they were students here in the 60's.
  9. Randy introduced our first time attendees, Bob Hoffman '63 of Palm Desert, CA, Michelle Cruz - SARC President, and our Campus Update presenter: Jake Saylor, President of Student Government Association

IV.       Old Business

  1. The Online Alumni Cookbook was addressed and everyone was encouraged again to upload recipes to the cookbook.  Several members committed to put two recipes on within the next few weeks and we would launch the cookbook publically before the next meeting.

V.        New Business

  1. Randy shared with the Council a fundraiser idea for the Walkway Scholarship Endowment - Blue Raider Bob bobble heads.  This project would result in $5 profit per bobble head to go into the Walkway Scholarship fund.  The Council was excited about the project.
  2. Randy also shared with the Council about a new series of events he plans to begin: LWC Tailgates in South-central Kentucky at high school football games.  It is Randy's desire to try to engage with un-engaged alumni in the region by making the effort to go to them instead of expecting them to automatically return to campus.  The first event will take place on Oct. 23 in Tompkinsville, KY at the Monroe Co. vs Green Co. football game.  All Council members are invited to attend.
  3.  The mid-winter meeting was scheduled for Tuesday Jan. 26, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. CT in the Cranmer Dining Center Board Room.  The group will have lunch, followed by the meeting.

VI.       Motion to adjourn by Allysa Gooden, second by Lafawn Nettles with all in favor

Respectfully submitted by Randy Burns
