Dear Parent,
I am thrilled your student is considering becoming a part of the
Lindsey Wilson College family. Here at LWC, we take our mission of,
"every student, every day," very seriously and are dedicated to
ensuring your student will receive the utmost personal attention
inside and outside of the classroom. Our faculty and staff not only
work towards but enjoy fostering your student's intellectual,
social, spiritual and personal growth. Although rigorous course
work is certainly in order for your student at Lindsey Wilson
College, so are faculty assisted community service projects, nail
biting athletic games against rival teams, cultural events such as
hearing Wendell Berry discuss his published works or even simply
having a cup of coffee with one of our esteemed faculty members to
talk about matters beyond the textbook.
Getting to know your sons and daughters on a personal level is
one of my greatest honors. Additionally, I hope that you will
become an involved parent and I will have the ability of getting to
know you on a personal level as well. There are a multitude of ways
for you to become involved. We welcome parents and families at any
and all admissions-related events such as Open House events,
personal campus visits, Begley Scholars Day, EDGE days and Opening
Weekend. The Admissions Office recognizes the importance of parent
involvement and special parent sessions dedicated to matters of
financial aid, campus safety and academic transitioning are offered
during admissions events. Beyond admissions-related events, I
encourage you to periodically check our calendar for choral
performances, lectures, concerts, art exhibits, recitals and
sporting events. This is your campus as much as it is your
student's campus and you are welcome to any and all campus
activities.
If your student becomes a part of the Lindsey Wilson College
family, there will be a weekend dedicated especially for you -
Family Weekend. Our annual Family Weekend is designed to engross
you in life at Lindsey and provide opportunities to experience what
makes this college so great. It is sure to be a treat for both you
and your student. It excites me to watch a grandparent's eyes light
up when they enter our beautiful chapel or to overhear a parent
tell a faculty member how much he or she has influenced their child
to become a better writer, reader or thinker.
It is my hope that you and your student will both become a part
of this campus, this college and this family at Lindsey Wilson. I
look forward to shaking your hand at commencement and presenting
your student with that hard-earned diploma you have always dreamed
of him or her achieving.
I wish you the best of luck in the college search process and
hope that your search will end at Lindsey Wilson College.
Sincerely,

William T. Luckey Jr. , President
