DIRECTOR OF PHYSICAL PLANT

Lindsey Wilson College, a United Methodist Church-affiliated higher education institution located in south-central Kentucky, invites applications for the Director of Physical Plant in Columbia, KY.  The Director of Physical Plant is responsible for the development, operation, and maintenance of the physical facilities of the college campus, including the buildings, mechanical systems, utilities, grounds, and equipment.  This responsibility also includes enhancing the attractiveness and effectiveness of all College facilities and grounds.  The Physical Plant of the main campus comprises 74 buildings with approximately 698,000 square feet of space and 268 acres of land.

The Director must be a positive representative of the College and effectively lead a diverse team.  The position reports to the Vice President of Administration and Finance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The primary duty is to successfully manage the physical facilities following the College’s mission and to lead the employees in the physical plant department.
  • Provides College-wide leadership and professional direction to a department that provides: facilities maintenance and repair, construction and renovation management, utilities optimization, environmental services, purchasing equipment and services, landscape beautification, event set-ups, fleet management, and other services.
  • Provides operational management including reporting and budgeting.
  • Establishes and implements a preventive maintenance plan/program for buildings, mechanical systems, vehicles, equipment, landscaping, and all paved surfaces.
  • Oversees improvements, maintenance, and repair for buildings, landscaping, vehicles, and equipment.
  • Builds and maintains an effective workforce through hiring, coaching, and disciplining employees.
  • Works cohesively with other departments within the College.
  • Leads efforts in facility-related process improvement, implementation of best practices, optimization of customer services, and the creation of operational efficiencies.
  • Leads the development of long-range capital budget planning.
  • Manages all construction and renovation projects.
  • Sets standards for acceptable types of work, prioritizes work requests, and verifies that the work meets or exceeds expectations.
  • Serves as the College representative to outside service providers regarding facilities management.
  • Supervises all contractors, engineers, and others, to ensure the College’s resources are protected.
  • Manages relationships with inspectors and other regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

HYBRID PROGRAMS DIRECTOR

The School of Graduate Business and Technology (SGBT) at Lindsey Wilson College invites applications for the position of Hybrid Programs Director. SGBT serves a largely international student population and offers M.B.A., M.S. Technology Management, M.S. Data Science and M.S. Cybersecurity Management degrees in a blended/hybrid format. The Hybrid Programs Director will report to, and work closely with the Dean of the School and assist with a fully online MBA program as well as a large, hybrid program with weekend residencies. Travel to off- campus instructional locations and some weekend work will be required. The Hybrid Programs Director will supervise a team of academic advisors and manage a number of academic support tasks. Experience with an international student population is preferred.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • An earned doctorate or terminal degree in a discipline closely related to the graduate programs offered preferable, or master’s degree in a discipline related to the graduate programs offered.
  • A minimum of five years of progressive experience in higher education, with a strong preference for experience in graduate education administration.

Lindsey Wilson College, Business Office is seeking an individual interested in a full-time position of Cashier.  This position is a front-line, customer service position providing direct service to students, faculty and staff.  The chosen candidate will ensure the prompt and accurate processing of student account payments, departmental deposits, and various cash disbursements; accurately and timely enter incoming revenue into the financial system database; ensure the cashier policies and procedures are followed.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required along with one year of college coursework in bookkeeping or accounting. Experience performing the duties described above for two years may substitute for coursework. Two years’ work experience in an office environment processing, recording or compiling accounting, bookkeeping or cashiering transactions is preferred.

A high level of attention to detail, strong analytical and research skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with broad range of customers is required.  The candidate must possess strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently and be able to consistently follow financial and administrative procedures, as well as the ability to explain these procedures to those unfamiliar with them. Required qualifications include: A Bachelor’s or master’s in athletic training from a CAATE accredited college or university; Board of Certification (BOCATC) certified; licensed or eligible for licensure through the Kentucky Medical Board of Licensure; certified in ALS/BLS from the American Heart Association/American Red Cross.

Assistant athletic trainers must have knowledge of a large range of medical problems and conditions, including but not limited to: Orthopedic/Musculoskeletal, General Medical, Psychological, etc. Assessment and evaluation skills need to be proficient, with areas of growth to occur.

The most qualified candidate will need to possess the following abilities and skills:

  • Think critically regarding assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and return to play decisions, as per standing orders and state licensure guidelines.
  • Thorough and detailed documentation and tracking, along with assessment and evaluation of athletic-related injuries and illnesses.
  • Communicate effectively in high stress/pressure situations when talking to student-athletes, medical professionals, staff and coaches.
  • Organize, prioritize, and perform multiple tasks with little to no supervision.
  • Make independent decisions regarding assessments, treatments, rehabilitation and return to play.
  • Work independently, with the cumulative support of the Sports Medicine department.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Onsite care and management of injuries and illnesses including prevention, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation.
  • Assess risk of injury, perform ergonomic evaluation and coaching, self-care implementation and overall wellness promotion.
  • Coordinate and implement injury prevention programs and customized preventative strategies and program for each patient.
  • Minimize risk of injury through awareness, education and prevention strategies.
  • Provide accommodation recommendations, related to sport, for student-athletes with restrictions and/or limitation based upon clinician evaluation and assessments.
  • Communicate with physicians and coaching staff regarding injury status of student-athletes.
  • Responsible for administrative duties including electronic documentation for all patient encounters, filing and management of insurance claims and follow-ups, management and coordination of doctors/surgery appointments.

Some travel may be required, based upon game coverage and athletic training room needs. Overnight travel may occur with conference games, and post-season/nationals travel as well.  

Lifting and carrying heavy objects. Medium strength is required to position student-athletes for examination. May assist student-athletes as needed, helping them on and off the exam table, or assisting athletes off the field for further evaluation. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Assistant athletic trainers will help supervise MSAT students and athletic training observation students, both within the athletic training room and at the sport practice/game sites.
