COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Good accounting practices can
make the difference when operating a successful small business.
That's the message Lindsey Wilson College Assistant Professor of
Accounting Lisa Crowe will deliver at free business
seminar on Nov. 17.
Crow is the final speaker in the "Build Your Own Job" seminar
series sponsored by the LWC Center for Entrepreneurship
Crowe's seminar about accounting programs and practices for
entrepreneurs will be at 11 a.m. CT on Thursday, Nov. 17, at
Mulligan's at The Pines at Lindsey Wilson College, 275 Country Club
Road.
The one-hour seminar is free and open to the public. A
complimentary lunch will follow the seminar.
In her presentation, Crowe will review basic paperwork
entrepreneurs should keep and file with their accountants,
including items such as invoices for business expenses,
payroll records and sales documents.
"Entrepreneurs who stay on top of their paperwork and their cash
flow can make their money work hard for them through good times and
challenging ones," said Crowe, who is also chair LWC's business and
computer information systems division.
Crowe will also talk about affordable accounting software that
is available for small-business owners.
"Accounting doesn't have to be a nightmare for entrepreneurs,"
Crowe said. "It's all a matter of getting off on the right foot, of
saving the right written records and recording them in the right
way."
