COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson
College community kicked off a five-year celebration of writing
earlier this semester. Dubbed "Lindsey Writes," the initiative that
reaches across the college's curriculum aims to help students
become better writers to "explore ideas, clarify thoughts, develop
and communicate knowledge and engage themselves as global
citizens."
The "Lindsey Writes" kick-off events, which were held Jan.
28-31, included an open house in the college's Katie Murrell
Library and writing center -- two departments that are central to
the initiative -- and a t-shirt toss at Biggers Sports Center. More
events will be held throughout the semester, including talks by
guest speakers and discussions led by LWC faculty and
staff.
