Center for Entrepreneurship April 19 Seminar Examines World Of New Business Financing

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- You've created solid business
and marketing plans and now you're ready to kick off your new
business-- if only you can get the start-up money you need.
Join a panel of lending specialists on April 19 for "Identifying
Funding Sources," the third in Lindsey Wilson College Center for
Entrepreneurship's series of seminars on how to start a small
business.
The event will begin at 11 a.m. CT on Tuesday, April 19, in the
LWC Roberta D. Cranmer Dining & Conference Center, 430 Helen
Flatt Drive.
Leading the April 19 discussion will be Garry Throckmorton, a
lending specialist at the Community Ventures Corp., a Small
Business Administration agency that works with banks throughout the
area to generate new-business financing.
Joining Throckmorton from Community Ventures Corp. will be
Campbellsville, Ky., Executive Vice President Pam Russell and
Patricia Krausman, who is from the corporation's Elizabethtown,
Ky., office.
A panel of local bank representatives will explain their loan
programs. Time will be allocated for questions.
The seminar's series, titled "Build Your Own Job," focuses on
ways area entrepreneurs can turn their business dreams into
reality. Previous topics have explored business and marketing
planning.
Future topics include: compensation and benefits on May 11;
staffing, June 9; business law, Sept. 22; business communication,
Oct. 20; and accounting practices and programs, Nov. 17. All
of the sessions will be held at the Cranmer Dining & Conference
Center,
