Katie Murrell Library Becomes Cool, Launches Facebook Page

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Katie Murrell Library is officially cool.

At least according to Director of Library Services Phil Hanna.

The Murrell Library became cool on Jan. 10 when it officially launched a Facebook fan page.

"We've been thinking a lot about how to promote curiosity, how to expose students to things they might not otherwise seek," Hanna said.

In addition to providing additional library resources, the page also includes links and articles to topics related to reading, culture and the arts.

"The goal is to promote curiosity and inquiry," Hanna said. "But most of all we do it because everyone does it -- and we want to be cool."
