COLUMBIA, Ky. -- A dozen Lindsey Wilson College
education students helped Adair County school children and their
family members celebrate reading and the works of one of the great
American children's authors on Thursday night.
The Lindsey Wilson students participated in Read Adair County at
Adair County Elementary School. The LWC students, many
dressed as characters from children's stories, read books to the
school children.
The event celebrated the legacy of the late Theodor Geisel, better known under the pen name
Dr. Seuss. Thursday evening's event at ACES was tied into Read
America, an annual national event held on or around March 2 to
commemorate Geisel's birthday and to encourage children to read.
Geisel, who published 44 children's books, died in 1991 at the age
of 87.
