'Lindsey Wilson Idol' 2013

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The talent of the Lindsey Wilson College student body was on display over the last week at the liberal arts college's annual "Lindsey Wilson Idol" competition.

Sponsored by the Lindsey Wilson Student Government Association, the three-day event -- held Feb. 7, 11, 12 -- featured 26 students who competed for cash prizes by singing a song. After using a three-panel judge to narrow the contestants to five finalists, Lindsey Wilson students voted on the top three finishers based on two songs performed by each contestant Tuesday night in V.P. Henry Auditorium.

The winners were: Jesse Baize of English, Ind., first place; Nazeem Bartman of Bonteheukiel, South Africa, second place; and Abby Calhoun of Lexington, Ky., third place.
