"Stuff 'N' Stuff" exhibit.

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Two dozen mixed media pieces by a North Carolina artist are on display through April 19 in the Lindsey Wilson College Lucretia C. Begley Art Gallery.

"Stuff 'N' Stuff" features 24 pieces by Pfeiffer (N.C.) University art professor Josh Cross. A public reception for Cross will be held at 3 p.m. CT on April 18 in the Begley Gallery.

A total of 24 mixed media pieces created by artist Josh Cross will be on display in the college's art gallery, located in the Slider Humanities building.

A native of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Cross said he did not plan to pursue the life of an artist until he was inspired by cartoons.
"They encourage free reign and associations that don't make sense but do connect, and I like that," he said.

Cross received earned a bachelor's degree in art from Southeast Missouri State University and a master's degree from Kansas State University. Since 2005, he has taught art at Pfeiffer University. He also teaches art workshops to children, adults, at-risk populations and to prisoners. He has also taught art history at LWC.

"Stuff 'n' Stuff," by Josh Cross, is on display through April 19 in the Lindsey Wilson College Lucretia C. Begley Art Gallery in the W.W. Slider Humanities Center, 155 Blue Raider Drive. Gallery hours are 8 a.m.-4 p.m. CT Monday-Friday and by special appointment. For more information, contact Tim Smith at or (270) 384-8079.
