LWC Honors Dr. Phil Aaron at Cycling Park Dedication Ceremony

Columbia, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson College will honor beloved Columbia physician and longtime LWC supporter and alumnus at a dedication ceremony today.

The Dr. Phil Aaron Cycling Complex, 399 Williams Street, will be dedicated at the entrance to the park on Bomar Heights – adjacent to the community medical services building. The ceremony will take place today, Friday, Sept. 29 at 3 p.m. CT.

For many years Dr. Aaron allowed the Lindsey Wilson cycling program to develop and train on the property located behind the former Aaron Medical Center. The cycling complex provided a venue for the team to begin hosting cycling events in 2008.  After Aaron’s death in 2016, the property was auctioned and Lindsey Wilson College became the official owner.

“Without the property the LWC cycling program would not have the success that we have each year,” says Lindsey Wilson cycling coach Charles Mooney. “It has allowed us to develop our own field of dreams within the cycling world.”

Dr. Aaron attended Lindsey Wilson College in 1970. He is a lifelong proponent of LWC athletic and academic programs – notably, the LWC nursing program.
