Lindsey Wilson College Presents the 24th Annual Safe Halloween
COLUMBIA, KY - Area children and their family members are invited to the 24th-annual Lindsey Wilson College "Safe Halloween." The annual trick-or-treat event for area children will begin in the Doris and Bob Holloway Health & Wellness Center, 299 Williams Street, Columbia, KY, with other stops during the 6pm-9pmCT October 31, 2017 tour. The event, which is sponsored by the LWC Office of Residence Life, is free and open to the public.
LWC students will escort children and their family members from the Holloway Health & Wellness Center through four residence halls. Tours will begin around every five minutes. Children will receive store-bought, packaged candy from student residents, many of whom will be dressed in costumes. The tour will take less than an hour.
The four residence halls to be featured in this year's "Safe Halloween" are: Jerry and Kendrick McCandless Hall, which will be decorated in themes inspired by the films Moana, Lilo and Stitch, and Star Wars; Phillips Hall, which will be decorated in themes inspired by the films Alice in Wonderland, Shrek, Beauty and the Beast, and Monsters Inc.; Keefe Hall, which will be decorated based on the theme of circus; and Horton Complex, which will include a haunted section.
The tour will end at the children’s carnival in the Cralle Student Union Building. The carnival will include games, activities and more candy.
“Safe Halloween provides a fun, safe and secure place for kids so parents can relax knowing their kids are not in any danger,” said LWC Director of Residence Life Jenny Parrigin Overstreet. "It's one of those events that the community knows is for them and it's a way for LWC to show them how much we appreciate everything they do for us. They get to tour halls that have been transformed into their kid's favorite shows while being greeted by students and staff with excitement and enthusiasm.”
