LWC 15th Annual Veterans Appreciation Luncheon - 8 Nov 2017
COLUMBIA, KY - The Lindsey Wilson College community will hold its annual Veterans Appreciation Luncheon beginning at at 11:30amCT on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 in Roberta D. Cranmer Dining & Conference Center, 430 Helen Flatt Drive, Columbia, Ky. The luncheon is open to veterans and their spouses or a guest, along with veterans' widows and widowers. There is no charge to attend the luncheon, but guests are asked to RSVP by contacting the LWC Alumni Office at firstname.lastname@example.org or (270) 384-8400.
This year's keynote speaker will be Major Paul Smith, a decorated career veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps who served in the Vietnam War. Smith will speak about the responsibility of serving and leading after military service. He currently lives in Columbia, Ky.
This is the 15th consecutive year LWC has held the luncheon. Sponsored by the LWC National Alumni Association, it started in 2003 as part of the college's centennial celebrations.
The annual event is not held on Veterans Day so it does not conflict with community celebrations on that day.
"This is always one of the highlights of the school year because the LWC community loves to show its appreciation to those who have served our country," said LWC Vice President for Student Services and Enrollment Management Dean Adams, who is an LWC alumnus. "Whether it was during a time of crisis or during a time of peace, one of the reasons this is a great country is because of the women and men who have unselfishly answered the call to serve our nation."
LWC Veterans Appreciation Luncheon will be held at 11:30amCT on Wednesday, November 8, 2017. The luncheon is free to all veterans, veterans' survivors and a guest. Guests should RSVP by contacting Lindsey Wilson at email@example.com or 270-384-8400.
