LWC Nursing & Russell County Hospital Sign Partnership Agreement

Lindsey Wilson College and Russell County Hospital are partnering to provide expanded learning opportunities for hospital employees. Lindsey Wilson College Nursing Director Emiley Button and Russell County Hospital Chief Executive Officer Bill Kindred signed a partnership agreement in Russell Springs, Kentucky on Tuesday, May 15.
The agreement allows nurses working full-time to earn an accredited baccalaureate degree in three semesters in an online format, with reduced tuition rate from Lindsey Wilson College.
According to LWC Nursing and Health Division Chair, Dr. Emiley Button, the agreement marks another milestone for the continued collaboration between the college and hospitals in the region.
“We look forward to Russell County Hospital becoming a key partner in our RN to BSN online program," said Button. "This will enhance the education and the training of Russell County Hospital employees, and the relevance of Lindsey Wilson College's RN to BSN online program. The intent is to foster continuous improvement to both organizations and to provide opportunities for the collaboration and growth and the effectiveness of the hospital's nursing staff."
Judy Chenoweth, Chief Nursing Officer of Russell County Hospital, was enthusiastic about the partnership.
"I love that students can do their clinicals here while they are working toward the degree,” said Chenoweth. “We have nurses that want to continue their education and get their BSN and they are going to really benefit from this."
The partnership is the sixth of its kind. Lindsey Wilson College also has current partnerships with Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, TJ Samson Community Hospital, Taylor Regional Hospital, Hardin Memorial Health and Med Center Health.
