Hello, I am Kimberly E. Brown, a proud graduate of the Lindsey
Wilson College School of Professional Counseling extended programs.
What a delight it was to be able to earn a Bachelor's degree in
Human Services and Counseling in 2003, near my home. With LWC SPC,
I was able to achieve a higher goal as well by obtaining a Master's
degree of Education in Counseling and Human Development in 2005.
Many believe that living in a rural area, such as Eastern Kentucky,
one would have a harder time furthering his/her education, but it
can be done, and have a profound impact on one's future. I also
hold an Associates of Arts, an Associates of Science, as well as an
Associates of Applied Science in Early Childhood Education.
I have always enjoyed working with people. I have worked in the
helping profession for the past 20 years in Early Childhood
Development, as an Early Childhood Educator. Also, I have worked
with the Cabinet for Health and Family Services as a Family Child
Specialist II, and I am member of the LWC Family, as well as an
Alumni member. I am a 2002 graduate and board member with
Leadership Harlan County United of 8 years; board member for the
Harlan ARH Advisory Council, for 4 years; member of the Harlan
Chamber of Commerce for 3 years; and board member of 1 year with
the Pine Mountain Community Development Corporation.
As coordinator, instructor, and advisor I am here to serve
"Every Student, Every Day", just as LWC SPC mission entails. My
leisure time is spent with my spouse Albert of 18 years, my family,
and I enjoy quilting.
