Laura Black earned her Bachelor's degree from Berea College in
Berea, Kentucky. After many years of working in the business world,
Laura decided to pursue a dream of returning to academia and
becoming a mental health professional. The School of Professional
Counseling at Lindsey Wilson College helped make that dream
reality. While enrolled in the master's program, Laura worked as a
graduate assistant at the Hopkinsville campus and was integral in
opening and effectively operating the campus' counseling center in
its first year of service. In 2011 she graduated with a Master's of
Education in Counseling and Human Development and went on to become
a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Licensed Professional
Counselor Associate (LPCA). Laura worked as a child and family
therapist for Impact Plus prior to accepting the Hopkinsville
coordinator position. She continues to provide counseling services
to private clients and facilitates batterer intervention groups.
Laura is excited to return to Lindsey Wilson as an employee. She
plans to use her experience and passion for the field to mentor
students and attract others to pursue their own dreams at the
School of Professional Counseling.
