Welcome to the A.P. White Campus! New students check in
at the small tent on the lawn; from there, they wil be directed
where to proceed. Residential students begin here for the move-in
process.
1:30 p.m. -- Honors Reception
NORMA AND GLEN HODGE CENTER FOR DISCIPLESHIP
Invitation-only reception is for students invited to take
part in the R.V. Bennett Honors Program.
3 p.m. -- Class of 2016 Kick-Off
Ceremony
DORIS AND BOB HOLLOWAY HEALTH & WELLNESS CENTER
Students will be welcomed by President William T. Luckey
Jr. and Student Government Association President Kendal Sewell.
Students will also meet key residence life staff and participate in
a team-building activity with other members of their residence
hall. New students are expected to attend this important event.
4 p.m. -- Commuter Student Reception
W.W. SLIDER HUMANITIES CENTER -- FOYER
Commuter students are required to attend this
introduction to the A.P. White Campus. Free meal tickets and other
LWC memorabilia will be given away. This group will walk together
to the President's Picnic.
5 p.m. -- President's Picnic
LAWN OF EMILY D. HUNDLEY PRESIDENT'S HOME
Meet LWC President Luckey and Mrs. Luckey and enjoy an
outdoor feast prepared by the fantastic Roberta D. Cranmer Dining
& Conference Center staff.
8 p.m.-midnight -- Class of 2016 HWC
Lock-In
DORIS AND BOB HOLLOWAY HEALTH & WELLNESS CENTER
Take a dip in the pool or join students on one of three
courts for a game of basketball, volleyball or badminton. A 3-on-3
basketball tournament will begin at 10 p.m.; winners will receive a
prize. If sports are not your forte, board games, speed dating,
tie-dying and other events will go on all night. Refreshments will
be provided.

Information about service times and locations of local
churches will be provided Saturday in Biggers Sports Center

Students will be assigned to an event on a first-come,
first-served basis based on their three top selections. Upon
check-in Saturday morning, students will be notified of which event
they will participate in. EVENTS ARE FREE TO ALL LWC
FRESHMEN; EVERY STUDENT MUST PARTICPATE IN ONE
ACTIVITY.

Ky.
■ Louisville (Ky.) Zoo, "State Zoo of Kentucky"; lunch
will be provided.
■ Somerset, Ky., SomerSplash Water Par; lunch and snacks will be
provided.
■ Mammoth Cave: "New Entrance Tour" -- Mammoth Cave,
Ky.
Monday, Aug. 20
9-10 a.m. -- Group Advising Session (Mandatory for
freshmen.)

Freshmen must report to the group advising session. Refer
to your blue advising appointment card for location. An advising
appointment card will be mailed to you. If you have not received an
advising appointment card by Aug. 13, please call Academic Affairs
at (270) 384-8030. During this session students will receive
information about the following mandatory activities:

Learning Community)

Testing
T.D. AND ROWENA EVERETT BUILDING
Students who could have scored better on their placement
test may have the opportunity to take the Placement
Challenge and test out of a developmental class. The test will
be given only to students placed in a developmental reading, math
or English class. The test may be attempted only once per
subject.

CRALLE STUDENT UNION BUILDING
Not sure where to go the first day of classes? EDGE leaders will
be available to show students around.
2 p.m. -- Crossing the Line
VARIOUS LOCATIONS AROUND CAMPUS
Students will have received their location during the Group
Advising Session. Students involved in Freshman Seminar
courses will meet with peer mentors to engage in an interactive
activity that will introduce them to the common reading, The
Other Wes Moore: One Name, Two Fates, and prepare them for
conversations during their first semester.
6 p.m. -- Giant Twister
LAWN IN FRONT OF T.D. AND ROWENA EVERETT
BUILDING
Join other students in a giant game of Twister! Prizes and other
goodies will be given away so stay for the fun until the last
person is standing!

Students will have received their Higher Pursuits time during the
Group Advising Session held Monday morning.
8 a.m.-3 p.m. Library Information (Mandatory for
freshmen.)
KATIE MURRELL LIBRARY
Students will have received their Library Information time during
the Group Advising Session held Monday morning. Students will be
given a "passport" that they will have to get punched at each
station, which is to be turned in to their Freshman Seminar
instructor. Information and giveaways will be passed out; drawings
for flash drives and other prizes will be held.
3 p.m. -- Work-Study Orientation
