Originally from the suburbs of Chicago, Jayne Hopkins obtained a bachelor's degree in bilingual elementary education from Loyola University of Chicago. Upon graduation, she taught fourth-grade English Language Learners for a year in Chicago and then moved to Cary, N.C., after marrying her husband, Brandon, who is a North Carolina native.

Emily came to the Central Kentucky area in 2004 from Kansas City, Missouri. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Campbellsville University in 2008.
