Wesley Scholars

Christian Leadership Scholarship

Celebrate God's Children

Since its founding in 1903, Lindsey Wilson College has played a vital role in the development of church leaders in Kentucky and throughout the United States. Each year, the Wesley Scholars Program selects two undergraduate students who show promise to become future leaders in the church. Wesley Scholars receive a scholarship for full tuition, room and board.

Special attention will be given to candidates whose life goals are to shape society through service to the church or through organizations dedicated to ensuring a just and fair society for all of God's children.

Wesley Scholars are expected to contribute an average of eight hours per week of service in conjunction with the campus spiritual life program. Their responsibilities include:

  • Attending regular meetings of the chapel staff
  • Assisting with student spiritual groups, retreats, discipleship programs, mission trips and the MOSAIC service
  • Working with local churches and represent LWC at conferences

Wesley Scholars must maintain a 3.0 grade point average. They may choose any major in the curriculum but also concurrently earn a major in religion.

Who Should Apply?

The Wesley Scholars Program is designed for graduating high school seniors who are active in their local church. Applicants should have a minimum grade point of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, have demonstrated leadership in their church, and have career plans that include serving God and their church.

To apply for the Wesley Scholarship Program, students should: complete an application to Lindsey Wilson College and the Wesley Scholars Program; complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid; submit letters of reference from a pastor and teacher; and attend Wesley Scholars Day, which is part of the LWC Talent Showcase, which will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024. Wesley Scholars will be selected by a committee that includes the LWC Chaplain and members of the college's religion department. Applicants not chosen to be a Wesley Scholar will be considered for other LWC scholarship programs and financial aid.
