The Alpha Kappa Phi Review
An Annual Journal of Undergraduate Research in the Humanities

The Alpha Kappa Phi Review is a peer-reviewed undergraduate research journal that publishes critical essays written by students at Lindsey Wilson College and other institutions of higher learning. Our mission is to promote excellence in undergraduate research and writing. While showcasing the year's best student work, the journal will also serve as a historical record of student achievement for years to come. Since successful undergraduate research grows out of the collaboration of instructors and students, our blind peer-review process consists of student and faculty reviewers. Our editorial board is comprised of members of Alpha Kappa Phi, Lindsey's chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, The International English Honor Society. Although staffed by English majors, the journal broadly defines the field of the "humanities" and welcomes submissions of research papers from multiple disciplines such as Women's Studies and History. Beginning in the fall 2016 term, please send any questions or essay submissions to the English Honor Society's chapter sponsor and faculty editor, Dr. Karolyn Steffens at steffensk@lindsey.edu.

Orpheus

The Literary Journal of Lindsey Wilson College

The first volume of Orpheus appeared in 1999 and since then has become highly anticipated each fall semester. It has been and continues to be a vibrant campus and community forum for creative student expression in multiple genres and media, regardless of a student's major. The editorial staff of Orpheus welcomes and encourages submissions of poetry, short fiction, creative nonfiction, photography, and artwork from any current Lindsey Wilson College student, including the College's satellite campuses. In consultation with their English faculty, each year the journal's faculty sponsor recognizes exceptional submissions in all categories, and these students receive awards at the College's annual Honor's Convocation with a certificate of outstanding achievement and their names added to the Orpheus award plaques on the third floor of the Slider Humanities Center.

Editorial positions are open to any current Lindsey Wilson College student based upon experience or interest. All written submissions to Orpheus must be formatted as a Word document and must be accompanied by the following information: name, phone number, local address, class, major, and hometown of the writer/artist. All photographs and images of artwork should be submitted in color and black and white JPG format. Please send submissions to orpheus@lindsey.edu. Calls for submissions and deadlines are announced in the fall term of each academic year.
