My LWC Story

Dr. Richardson-Hatcher earned a doctorate of anatomy and neurobiology degree at the University of Kentucky in 2009. While attending UK, she was hired as an assistant professor in the Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology. Richardson-Hatcher knew early on she wanted to teach and pursued a certificate in college teaching and learning. Today she is an associate professor with tenure at UK. Her passion and dedication for teaching was recognized when she received the College of Medicine's Five-Star Educator Award in Educational Evaluation and Research in 2013. In 2012 she received the award for Innovation & Curriculum Development and Outstanding Teaching and Contribution and Mentorship, among others. She mentors women through an initiative called IamaWomanInSTEM at UK - a program that encourages women to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Richardson-Hatcher received a bachelor's degree in biology with a minor in chemistry from LWC. Some of her fondest memories from LWC are of her time spent as a member of the Lindsey Wilson Singers and Concert Choir. She was a founding member of Living in Faith Eternally (LIFE) a faith-based group that organizes weekly worship services for the campus. When Richardson-Hatcher finds free time she enjoys swimming and spending time outdoors. She and her husband, Jay have one son: Eli Richard Hatcher. They are actively involved in their church.
