2024 Homecoming Alumni Award Recipient

Bruce Harris '08 - Distinguished Alumnus

It has been incredible to see how the Lindsey Wilson mission has impacted the life of Bruce Harris. A native of Bandana, Kentucky, Bruce never thought it would be possible to attend college. But after learning about LWC, he was Columbia-bound. Bruce arrived in 2004 and made the most of his time at the college. He was a Bonner Scholar, Resident Assistant, an escort for the LWC Mountain Laurel candidate, homecoming king and intern at the Columbia-Adair County Chamber of Commerce. Since graduating from LWC in 2008, Bruce has gone on to achieve many accolades in his chosen career of pharmacy.

Bruce holds a Doctor of Pharmacy from Samford University McWhorter School of Pharmacy. He was the Medicare Clinical Pharmacy Manager for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama from 2018-2020. He currently serves as the Director of Professional Affairs at American Pharmacy Cooperative, Inc.

Bruce is also involved in many endeavors outside of his career. He serves as a Deacon at First Baptist Church of Birmingham. He's also actively engaged in the Samford University National Alumni Association where he serves as the Vice President of Development.

Today, Bruce serves on LWC's Board of Trustees and Executive Committee. In 2024, Bruce Harris started the Bruce Harris Endowed Scholarship to help deserving students with financial need. Bruce credits Lindsey Wilson’s mission for changing his life and changing the lives of every student, every day.
