Phillips Hall was one of the original three buildings when the college, founded in 1903, opened for classes in January 1904.

King, who enrolled at Lindsey Wilson College in 1965, was able to attend because of scholarship money provided by Mr. and Mrs. Walter T. Stephens from Russell County (Ky.). Says King, “My life has never been the same since Mr. and Mrs. Stephens sent me to Lindsey Wilson College.”
