A Week of Events Will Showcase the Culture Differences and Passions of LWC Students


A conference, a symposium, a festival and an expo will put Lindsey Wilson College students, and the interests that are important to them, on display, April 7-13.

 The talks and presentations by more than 70 LWC students will include a variety of topics including diversity, culture, leadership, equality and gender norms. In addition, more than 100 students will showcase their ingenuity and problem-solving skills at the sixth-annual Business Concept Competition.

Women's Studies Conference: April 7 -- This annual spring academic conference features students presenting papers on a wide range of women's issues including equality, social justice and violence. The conference will begin at 9:30 a.m. CT in the W.W. Slider Humanities Center, Room 300, 155 Blue Raider Drive, and will conclude around 4:30 p.m. CT. Go here for a complete list of discussions and presenters.

L3 Leadership Symposium: April 10-12 -- The three-day symposium, dubbed "Diversity in Leadership" includes talks by LWC students, faculty and staff members about diversity in groups, communication styles and understanding different cultures. Go here for a complete schedule of topics and presenters.

International Student Festival: April 12 -- LWC will hold its annual International Festival from 11:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m. CT in the Doris and Bob Holloway Health & Wellness Center, 388 Williams Street. Guests will be able to samples dishes from around the world and learn facts about everything from culture to clothing from LWC international students. More than two dozen countries will be represented. The event is free and open to the public. Business Concept Competition: April 13 -- Sponsored by the LWC Center for Entrepreneurship, the event invites LWC students from all disciplines to propose a business concept and compete for a cash prize. The campus and community are invited to this free exhibition of ideas. The expo will begin at 12 p.m. CT in the Norma and Glenn Hodge Center for Discipleship, 402 Helen Flatt Drive, and will conclude around 4 p.m. CT.
