LWC Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees: Anderson, Cook Pingleton
COLUMBIA, KY -- Homecoming weekend celebrations will include the Alumni Awards & Athletic Hall of Fame event where three alumni will be inducted into the LWC Athletic Hall of Fame. It will be held at 11amCT, Saturday, October 21, 2017 in the Roberta D. Cranmer Dining & Conference Center, 430 Helen Flatt Drive, Columbia, KY.
The three who will be inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame are: former men's basketball players Cetric Anderson '05 and Scott Cook '06, as well as former wrestler Charlie Pingleton '12, who will be inducted posthumously.
Cetric Anderson
Cetric Anderson (basketball, 2001-05) is the men's basketball program's all-time leading scorer with 1,910 points over his four-year career. He is second on the program's all-time list in 3-pointers (288) and steals (209) and third in assists (418).
Anderson earned NAIA All-American honors twice and was a three-time All Mid-South Conference selection. He helped the Blue Raiders to a 104-35 record over his career, including helping Lindsey Wilson to a No. 1 national ranking and a program-record 33 wins in 2003-04.
During the 2002-03 season, Anderson scored a single-season program-record 631 points, helping the Blue Raiders reach the NAIA Men's Basketball Division I National Tournament. The next season, Anderson helped Lindsey Wilson reach the program's first-ever national quarterfinal en route to a 33-4 season.
Scott Cook
Scott Cook (basketball, 2002-06) is a two-time NAIA First Team All-American and was selected twice as the Mid-South Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year. He earned first-team all-conference honors all four seasons for the Blue Raiders.
Cook concluded his career as the program's all-time leader in assists (672) and steals (264). He is second only to Anderson in points, scoring 1,630 during his career. His 137 games played are tied for the most in Lindsey Wilson men's basketball history.
During his four years, the Blue Raiders accumulated a 111-29 record. The 111 wins are the most over any four-year period in the program's history.
Cook helped the Blue Raiders to four straight NAIA National Tournaments, including reaching a pair of national quarterfinals.
Anderson and Cook helped Lindsey Wilson win back-to-back Mid-South Conference Tournament titles in 2004 and 2005.
Charlie Pingleton
Pingleton (wrestling, 2010-12), who will be recognized posthumously, became Lindsey Wilson wrestling's first-ever NAIA National Champion after winning the 157-pound weight class at the 2012 national championships.
Currently, he is one of five Blue Raiders to capture an individual national title.
During the 2011-12 season, Pingleton added NAIA All-American and Mid-South Conference Wrestler of the Year honors to his national title. He concluded the 2011-12 season with 32 wins, including 11 major decisions -- which is the most in a single season in the program's history.
Pingleton helped the Blue Raiders to a fourth-place finish at the 2012 national championships. At the time, it was the best finish in the program's history.
Pingleton concluded his two-year Lindsey Wilson career with a 34-12 record.
