Six Teams Awarded at 7th Annual Business Concept Competition


Business Concept Winners 2018

Columbia, KY - The LWC Center for Entrepreneurship held it's 7th Annual Business Concept Competition on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, in the Norma & Glenn Hodge Center for Discipleship. A total of 27 teams and 68 students competed for cash prizes for their business concepts. A total of six teams placed in the competition.

Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship Linda Grider said that the students involved in the business concept competition benefit in many ways.

“They acquire communication skills, time management skills, business world terminology and the experience of presenting in a competitive environment,” said Grider. “We continue to see interest in this competition year after year because the students see this as a catalyst for their future careers.”

The winners in the competition were:

FIRST PLACE: Ambria Hites received first place and a check for $300 for her concept 'Wares of Care.’

SECOND PLACE: Cody Reeder received second place and a check for his concept 'The Spartan.’

THIRD PLACE: Braxten Leff and Trent Mueller received third place for their concept ‘Gentlemen’s Candle Society.’

OVERALL PRESENTATION: Corey Dickerson received the overall presentation award for his concept ‘Athletics and Academics.’

POTENTIAL DEMAND: Drew Morgan, Olivia Wilson and Dequan Robinson received the potential demand award for their concept ‘The Pullover.’

MOST CREATIVE: Hakin Bance, Dez Jackson, Andres Riquelme and David Ibrahimkadic received the most creative award for the concept ‘Stir Fry.’
