Educational Technology

The School of Professional Counseling uses educational technology to enhance the experience of students within its programs. Students using these resources should review the Lindsey Wilson College Acceptable Use Policies and abide by its guidelines. Students having difficulty with any aspect of technology use in the School of Professional Counseling should seek assistance from their instructors.

Safe Assign - The plagiarism detection service SafeAssign may be used as part of any course within the School of Professional Counseling. This tool is intended to discourage plagiarism and as an educational tool for students who may be unclear about appropriate citation and referencing practices. If SafeAssign is used in a course, the students in that course will have access to the originality report generated for their work prior to the graded submission of the paper. Students also have the option of requesting that their instructors post their documents anonymously if they are uncomfortable having their name associated with their work.

Tegrity - The digital recording service Tegrity may be used as part of any course within the School of Professional Counseling. Tegrity is intended to aid students & faculty by providing a tool for reviewing classroom sessions. Students who do not wish to be recorded can ask to be seated out of the view of the Tegrity camera. Students may also request that recordings be paused during sensitive classroom discussions.
