Prospective Students

The Counselor Education & Supervision program at Lindsey Wilson College provides face-to-face instruction in a convenient format. The curriculum is designed to build student strengths in counseling, teaching, supervision, research and leadership. In addition, the CES program emphasizes four core areas intended to maximize the success of its students.

Connection - Students will engage in the larger professional arena of counseling, presenting at regional and national conferences, participating in student governing bodies, and networking with professionals from across the country. These opportunities are essential to the development of emerging professionals seeking employment in a competitive job market.

Transparency - Students will engage in learning through academic and experiential processes. This will be accomplished, in part, through a clear and transparent process in which students will be invited to participate in numerous activities typically reserved for faculty, including faculty governance, accreditation, program evaluation, and teaching and supervision. In addition, students will have the opportunity to participate in a Student Advisory Committee that works closely with program faculty to ensure quality in the CES program.

Scholarship - Students will integrate research into every aspect of their learning experiences in the CES program. Each student will participate in a colloborative research team with other students and faculty, learning the skills necessary to contribute new knowledge to the profession of counseling. In addition, students will participate in research courses designed to provide opportunities for practical applications for research methodologies, including prepration for the dissertation process.

Technology - Students will master a wide range of technologies that have become modern-day requirements for functioning  in academic settings. The CES program uses many cutting edge technologies to support its students, including Blackboard, Livetext, Tegrity, and Google Apps for Education. Students will learn these tools from both the student and instructor prospectives, providing them invaluable skill sets that will be necessary for success in academic settings.
