LWC Education Preview Day
To help encourage more LWC students to pursue a degree in STEM Education, we held a Finals Week Stress Relief Activity in our Student Union Building on April 24th. We partnered with Black Student Union, Sexuality and Gender Accepting Student Union, and Student Activities Board to help facilitate the activities. During this event we had two current STEM education students pass out advertisement materials on STEM Education and talk about their experiences in the education program so far. We provided a variety of STEM related activities such as plant a sunflower seed, creating a stress ball, and color by number for students to rotate at their own pace. During the event, we had great conversations with students about the education majors we offer. We had 74 total students join us for the event. 35% of the students were minorities.
