Nursing
The nursing program prepares students to make
a difference in the lives of others. The nursing program seeks to
develop nurses who are:
- leaders in providing client-centered,
evidence-based health care to diverse clients;
- life-long learners who have a holistic
perspective on the nursing profession;
- caring providers of health care in a variety
of settings.
Applications for Admission to the Nursing Program were available
beginning April 1, 2010.
The application deadline was May 1.

Program Distinctions
Specific program outcomes include educating students
to:
- Apply evidence-based knowledge from nursing theories and
research, and concepts from liberal education, including the
humanities and behavioral, mathematical, natural and physical
sciences into the practice of professional nursing.
- Use critical thinking skills in decision-making and effective
oral and written communication in the application of the nursing
process to individuals, families, groups, and communities.
- Demonstrate leadership and management skills in the practice of
professional nursing.
- Implement teaching plans appropriate to the developmental and
learning needs of diverse clients, groups and communities.
- Provides nursing care that takes into consideration internal
and external factors influencing patient health
- Adhere to professional nursing standards and follow the
American Nurses Association "Code of Ethics" in the caring practice of
professional nursing.
- Demonstrate a commitment to professional growth and improvement
(life-long learning).
