can apply throughout the year. However, we encourage students to
apply as early as possible to maximize scholarship opportunities
and to guarantee the best academic schedule possible.
What documents do you need in order to accept
me for admissions?
We must have a high school transcript sent to us directly from
your high school. It is also helpful to have ACT/SAT scores
sent to our office as well. Once we have those items, we will
determine if an acceptance will be issued. Our office will
request this information, but to expediate the process, it is
helpful when the student takes the initiative to have the needed
items in advance.
Do you require an essay, resume or letters of
recommendation for acceptance?
Although Lindsey Wilson College does not require an essay,
resume or letters of recommendation for general admissions, you may
send any additional information you would like us to know about you
to the Admissions Office. Resumes or letters or recommendation may
be helpful in determining scholarship qualifications, college
readiness and in aiding your admissions counselor in getting to
know you better as a student and person.
How long will it take for me to find out if I
have been accepted?
Once all documentation has been recieved, we will act on a
decision within 7 days.
How much does it cost for me to apply for
admission?
Lindsey Wilson College does not have an application
fee. Applying for admission does not obligate you to attend.
However, we cannot offer you a financial aid package featuring any
scholarship money until you have applied to Lindsey Wilson and have
been accepted.
What ACT/SAT and GPA do I need to qualify for
scholarships?
Lindsey Wilson College begins awarding achievement scholarships
at a 3.0 GPA and a 18 ACT. We have found the GPA is a greater
indicator of a student's capability to succeed in college than the
ACT score alone. Obivously, students who exhibit both strong
ACT/SAT scores and GPA will qualify for an increase in money as the
scores increase. For more information on all of our
scholarships, see Making LWC Affordable.
Is there a separate scholarship
application?
We do not have a separate scholarship application. We work very
diligently to get to know our students. Our application provides
enough information to determine the scholarships to award.
Are there date sensitive scholarships I should
be aware of?
Yes, our Begley Scholarship has a deadline of February 1. This
scholarship is unique to Lindsey Wilson College. Students who have
a 24 on the ACT or above and a 3.0 GPA or above are invited to
participate. The candidates vie for full-tuition, room and board
for all four years. The scholarship includes trips to Hemingway's
four great cities: Chicago, SanFrancisco, New Orleans and New
York. Every trip is completely covered. The Scholars are also
