Fouser Sustainability Lab to be dedicated Wednesday, Sept. 28

Posted on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 [2:38 PM]

The Dedication of the Fouser Sustainability Lab will take place at 10amCT on Wednesday, September 28 at the Jim & Helen Lee Fugitte Science Center, Room 329, 411 Helen Flatt Drive, Columbia, KY, on the A.P. White Campus of Lindsey Wilson College. The event is part of the 2016 Homecoming Week Celebration.

The Sustainability Lab is being dedicated in recognition of Fouser Environmental's support of LWC's Sustainability and Energy Applications Program.

Nancy Fouser, a '62 alumna of LWC, is the owner of Fouser Environmental. Fouser, a native of Columbia, Kentucky, now lives in Versailles, KY. Fouser started the company with her late husband Charles E. Fouser in 1989. Fouser's three children, Paul "Ray" Fouser, Ellen Gormley and Ted Fouser, all hold positions in the company.

Nancy and Charles both attended Lindsey Wilson College and graduated in 1962. Nancy was a member of the LWC training school.

"Charles and I both shared a passion for environmental issues as well as Lindsey Wilson College," said Fouser. "Our support is a way of helping advance a field that's so important at a college and community that mean so much to me."

Fouser is encouraged at the growing field of sustainability and is positive about the future.

"When we first started the company back in the 80s, you'd hear people talk about environmental issues in a very narrow way," said Fouser. "Today I feel like people understand the importance of sustainability more and it's encouraging to see schools like Lindsey Wilson College taking steps to educate young minds on improving our world."
