COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Ashley Meadows Miller has been
named Lindsey Wilson College director of career services.
Miller is a native of Shelbyville, Ky., but
she comes to LWC from Pennsylvania.
"I was working for Widener University School of Law in Wilmington,
Del., and I wanted to find a college atmosphere like Widener, where
students were held to a higher level of educational excellence, and
I also wanted to be in a community that celebrated its students,"
Miller said.
Miller earned a bachelor's degree from the University of
Kentucky. She is pursuing a master's degree in organizational
leadership.
"I was amazed at the exponential growth of Lindsey Wilson
College since I was in school doing my undergraduate work," Miller
said. "I was eager to be a part of that development, and I look
forward to carrying out the Lindsey Wilson mission of serving the
needs of every student, every day."
As director of career services Miller helps students choose a
career path by providing assessment intakes and career advice;
coordinating and presenting workshops, seminars, fairs, events and
orientations about careers; and serving as a liaison between LWC
and the Kentucky Work Study Program.
Miller said she is excited about how her work can influence LWC
students.
"I am looking forward facilitating the transition from young men
and women into young professionals for the students of LWC," Miller
said. "I have a deep passion for the advancement of students' lives
beyond the classroom and into the workforce in a professional
capacity. With the resources of Lindsey Wilson College, its alumni
and the Columbia-Adair County community, the quality of the
services I will be able to provide to our students is beyond
compare."
