Center for Excellence in Research Third Annual Mental Health Symposium


The Lindsey Wilson College Center for Excellence in Research will host the third annual Mental Health Symposium on Saturday, May 6. Open registration for the event will begin at  8:30 a.m. CT in the Norma and Glen Hodge Center for Discipleship, 402 Helen Flatt Drive, Columbia, Ky. The keynote session will begin at  9:30 a.m. CT. This one-day symposium will fulfill a professional development requirement of the Kentucky LPCC Board of Kentucky of the Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors.  

"This symposium examines addiction related issues such as internet addiction, spiritually and addictions as well as childhood trauma, substance abuse and topics about suicide," said LWC Director of Counselor Education and Supervision Jeffery Parsons.

The keynote speaker, Kentucky Counseling Association President-elect Michelle Sircy, will discuss the power counselors play in the fight against substance abuse and the critical role counselors have in supporting those affected by substance abuse.

Symposium participants will earn up to six continuing education hours by attending this seminar.  The material is pre-approved by the Kentucky LPCC Board.
