Spiritual Life
Lindsey Wilson College is a private institution with close ties
and affiliations with the
Kentucky Annual
Conference of The United Methodist Church. These ties reach beyond
financial assistance: LWC's affiliation is expressed in the heart
of its mission.
LWC has have several opportunities for students to get involved
in campus ministry and worship freely. LWC also has several vibrant
prayer groups and small group Bible study groups that allow for
intimate study of scriptures.
From the moment students arrive on the A.P. White Campus,
members of Campus Ministries assist them. They also offer a
helping hand and a contact number for students.
Spiritual Organizations
Awakening is a travelling worship team that takes
the Good News to churches by performing skits, leading in music,
presenting a children's sermon and a student-led
message/devotional. The team also takes a fall mission trip.
The Creative Ministry team works on skits,
interps and stick dramas to enhance campus LIFE worship service on
Wednesday nights. It has a student leader that works with a Campus
Ministries professional toselect material and to keep students
informed of rehearsal times, upcoming events, etc.
The Mission team consists of students that want
to put feet to their faith. The goal is to take two trips during
the school year -- one in spring and one in fall. Trips have
included trips to Chicago's historic Pacific Garden Mission and to a women's shelter
that ministers to women fighting addiction and abuse.
LIFE is a college worship experience that
includes contemporary music with a full band, creative arts
worship, fellowship and lots of intentional ways to engage college
students in worship. Worship is an act that we fully participate
in, not just attend. LIFE also give students an opportunity to tell
their story, participate in various forms of worship and be a part
of the LIFE leadership team, which guides the direction and theme
of spiritual life on campus.
The purpose of Small Groups is to help
foster a sense of community between students, the college and God.
Small groups build up each other spiritually and emotionally and
also help foster a sense of accountability to each other, the
church and also to LWC. Small groups are a great place to meet with
God and build new friendships.
