I became a part of the Lindsey Wilson College family in August
of 1999 when I moved to campus as a first-time freshman. At that
time, I had no idea how important Lindsey Wilson College would
become. After a wonderful three years as an undergraduate student
in the Human Services program, I had the fortune to start working
on my master's degree a year early as a part of the fast-track
program. Two years later, on May 8, 2004, I graduated from Lindsey
Wilson with both a BA and an M.Ed.!
My first full-time job after graduation was working for Lindsey
Wilson College as a Freshman Advisor. I worked closely with
underprepared freshman in order to maximize their chances of
success in college. My time as a FA was wonderful, but I needed to
move "home" to Henry County due to a variety of circumstances. The
decision to leave LWC, my "home away from home" was one of the
hardest choices I've made.
After a few years of working for the Kentucky Department of
Corrections and for Cedar Lake, Inc., I learned that the Lindsey
Wilson College School of Professional Counseling had opened a
community campus near my home, in Louisville, Kentucky. Again, it
was my good fortune to have been chosen to serve as the coordinator
for the Louisville campus. After being away from LWC for several
years, it finally felt like I was "home" again! I served as the
Louisville campus coordinator for two years, and am now proud to
serve as the coordinator at the Shelby County campus, in
Shelbyville, Kentucky. I grew up in an adjoining county and was
very excited to share Lindsey Wilson's mission and incredible
opportunities with people so close to home.
It is my hope that as coordinator, I am able to give our
community campus students the same care, attention, and
encouragement that was given to me when I was enrolled at Lindsey
Wilson. The Lindsey Wilson College experience is truly something
special!
My husband, David and I make our home in rural Henry County,
Kentucky, with our daughter, Campbell, our dog (Nestle), and cat
(Pippa).
