Host Family Program

Lindsey Wilson College is a residential college, which means that all international students must live in on-campus housing.  Each new international student is assigned to a volunteer host family from the Lindsey Wilson faculty, staff or from the local community.  These host families provide you with emotional and psychological support throughout your course of study at Lindsey Wilson College.   It is a good idea to talk with your American host family when you get homesick and lonely.  You can learn a lot about American culture and family life by getting to know your host family.  The host family, however, is NOT responsible for your financial needs.  The host family program is not the same as a home-stay program where you can live with them.   You will not stay with the host family, although some families might occasionally offer overnight stays for a special occasion.  Host families and students have special gatherings twice a year (in September and in April) at the Cranmer Dining Center.  For more information, please contact Suzy McAlpine at mcalpins@lindsey.edu or Viktoria Krell at viktoria.Krell@lindsey.edu.

 International Student Club

This club is for you to join.  It provides a medium to involve international students in an exchange of ideas with other students, faculty, staff and members of the local community.  Students also seek to educate groups about different cultures, countries and travel opportunities.  The Club meets every other week to discuss what international activities they want to do in upcoming months as well as to plan trips for Fall, Winter, and Spring Break. The officers consist of the President, Vice President, Secretary, Special Events Coordinator, Public Relations Officer and Treasurer.  Most common activities include taking trips to local sights such as Churchill Downs, shopping in Nashville and Louisville, attending cultural events like local International Festivals and American Culture events, and our large break trips to places like Washington D.C., New York City, Florida and many more!  You can contact the club advisor, Viktoria Krell at viktoria.Krell@lindsey.edu.
