The Kentucky Department of Education has provided guidance in implementing Teaching and Learning Career Pathways along with the Educators Rising Student Organization to our Local Education Agencies. Lindsey Wilson College is a Dual Credit Partner that aligns two courses with the pathway:
  • The Teaching Profession - The Learning Community
  • Introduction to Educational Technology - The Learner Centered Classroom

Russell County Schools

Russell County Schools began their Educators Rising Student Organization along with the Teaching & Learning Career Pathway in the 22-23 school year. Through this program, RCHS students take The Teaching Profession & Introduction to Educational Technology through Lindsey Wilson College.

Partnering with LWC and being able to provide students a dual-credit option within the Teaching and Learning Pathway has been a wonderful opportunity. Students were able to see first-hand the rigor required to complete coursework in college while also getting a glimpse at what it takes to be a teacher. For some, it solidified their passion to become a teacher, while for others it showed them that they may need to consider other options. For all of them, they have gotten to see "behind the curtain" of the profession and all that goes into becoming and being a teacher.
