Welcome Returning Students



Friday, August 18


    12 - 4 p.m. Returner Move-in

    Biggers Sports Center (enter via parking lot side to check-in)
    MANDATORY FOR RETURNING STUDENTS
    *Returning Commuters are required to go to Biggers Sports Center to finalize the enrollment process.
    Welcome back to campus! All returning students, both residents and commuters, must check in at Bigger Sports Center upon arrival.


Saturday, August 19


    10:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. - Lunch

    Roberta D. Cranmer Dining & Conference Center
    LWC students with a meal plan are free and lunch is available for $8.25 per person for non-students. Food is also available at the Coca-Cola trailer near the gym for a reasonable price and drinks are free.

    4 p.m. - Academic Forum

    Lawn in front of the Begley Chapel
    Explore our academic programs in this interactive session with our professors. Connect with faculty from your major, or continue to explore your options as you meet peers with similar interests.

    4:45 p.m. - President’s Picnic

    Lawn of the Emily D. Hundley President’s Home
    Meet and get to know President Luckey and First Lady Elise Luckey while enjoying an outdoor meal prepared by the Cranmer Dining Center staff, as well as some music and yard games.

    8 - 10 p.m. - LWC Hangout

    Bob and Doris Holloway Health & Wellness Center (HCW)
    Wear your neon colors to this RAVE themed party where all students are invited to play Glow-in-the-Dark Grocery and Laundry Bingo, participate in volleyball or cornhole tournaments, hang out in the pool or hot tub, shoot basketball or play a game of dodgeball. Sponsored by Student Activities, R.A.V.E., Student Government Association, and Campus Recreation.

Monday, August 21


    Day Classes Begin

    7:50 a.m. - Ringing of the Bell

    Campus Quadrangle
    Be present as President Luckey and Dr. Ray Lutrgring ring the bell to signify the first day of classes.

    12 - 3 p.m. - Street Sign Design

    Cralle Student Union Building
    Students can create their own custom street sign thanks to PartyTrain Entertainment! This event will go on while supplies last. Sponsored by Student Activities.

    3 - 5 p.m. - Make New Friends at the ISA House!

    ISA House
    Ice cream, cookies, drinks, games and new friends are awaiting you at this fun event. There will also be an opportunity to make spirit posters for the volleyball and soccer games this week!

    9:30 p.m. - Hall meetings

    Residence Halls
    Report to your residence hall for a meeting with Resident Assistants (R.A.) and Resident Directors (R.D.).


Tuesday, August 22


    2:30 p.m. - Slip-n-slide Kickball and Snow Cones

    Campus Quadrangle
    You’ll want to be there for this fun twist on kickball! Feel free to play or stand by and watch while you enjoy a snow cone from Mimi’s Shaved Ice truck. Sponsored by LWC Admissions and Student Activities.

    4 p.m. - Women’s JV Volleyball Game

    Here’s your chance to catch the first home game of the semester and cheer on your Blue Raiders as they play against Kentucky Christian College.

    *December and April graduates only
    Senior year – now what?! All seniors are encouraged to attend and hear from Career Services and the Alumni Association about topics such as upcoming career fairs, resume building, post-graduation advice, the senior class gift, and the Alumni Association. They’ll have great giveaways and free pizza!

    5 p.m. - Blue Raider Luau & Bonfire

    Come in your floral outfits for a Hawaiian themed dinner on the Quad complete with outdoor volleyball, cornhole, and music and as the night goes on, bonfires will light up for s’more roasting!

    6 p.m. - Men’s Soccer Game vs. Mount Vernon Nazarene University

    Ray Wells Field at Walter S. Reuling Stadium
    One more chance to cheer on the Blue Raiders this week! Come support LWC as they play at home against Mount Vernon Nazarene University.

    6 p.m. - Bring Your Own Tie-Dye

    Cralle Student Union Building
    Bring something white – shirts, pants, socks, hats, small bags to tie-dye! Please do not bring anything large like blankets or pillows, as this will use up too much dye and water.

    7 p.m. - TheatreFest! Presents: The Unexpected Guest by Agatha Christie

    V.P. Henry Auditorium located inside the L.R. McDonald Administration Building
    Lost in the fog, a stranger seeks refuge in a nearby house, only to find a man shot dead and his wife standing over him with a smoking gun. But the woman’s dazed confession is anything but convincing, and the unexpected guest decides to help. Remarkably, the police clues point to a man who died two years previously, but as the ghosts of a past wrong begin to emerge, a tangled web of lies reveals family secrets and chilling motives, where the real murderer turns out to be the greatest mystery of all.
