The Lindsey Wilson College Student Government Association (SGA) is responsible for coordinating student clubs and organizations for the purpose of student development and student leadership. It is active in assisting with the planning, promotion, and coordination of student activities and community service projects. SGA exists to provide leadership opportunities through student governance and to serve as a voice for student concerns and needs.

Welcome to the homepage for the Lindsey Wilson Student Government Association! We have specifically crafted our website to better serve the needs of Lindsey Wilson College students and those affiliated with our organization. On the site, you will find information about the elected leaders of the LWC SGA. Our job is to serve and to voice the concerns of the student population, so I highly encourage you to reach out and speak with one or all of your respective representatives.

In addition, you are granted access to invaluable information about our organization and other clubs on campus. Through our website's interactive components, you are able to download the necessary paperwork to create and maintain clubs and organizations on campus and to submit student concerns to the Cabinet and Senate with ease.

Because of the collective effort to serve the educational and spiritual needs of every student, every day, Lindsey Wilson College is a special place. The Student Government Association is proud to enhance the lives of LWC Blue Raiders through hosting fun events year-round and working with college administrators to bring about needed change. SGA President Evan Smiley

President Evan Smiley
Smiley is a Senior Business Administration Major with an emphasis in Accounting from Payneville, Kentucky. He is the head swim team manager for the LWC Men and Women's swim teams. He also serves as the Office Manager for the Office of Development. While smiley wears many hats here at LWC, his passion for the Student Body is unwavering. Prior to being elected to his second term as Student Body President, Smiley served as the 2020-2021 Chief of Staff, and as a Senator-At-Large in 2019-2020. Contact him at smileye@lindsey.edu.

Vice President Jacqueline Oliphant
Oliphant is a Senior double major, with Business Administration major with an Emphasis in General Management and Communication from Corbin, Kentucky. She is a member of the bowling team. She currently serves as a co-caption of the women's bowling team. Prior to being elected 2022-2023 Student Body Vice President, Oliphant served as 2021-2022 Treasurer.

Wells is a sophomore majoring in Secondary Education English with a minor in Theatre from Columbia, KY. She is involved in Intramural sports, Lindsey Wilson Singers, Student Ambassadors, and is an RA at Keefe!

Treasurer Madi Corbin

Treasurer Madi Corbin
Corbin is a sophomore at LWC pursuing a major in Nursing from Greensburg, Kentucky! Other than SGA, she is a Resident Assistant for Keefe, a peer mentor for FYE, and works at the Holloway Health and Wellness Center, as well as heavily involved in intramural sports. In her spare time, she enjoys being with her friends and family and going on hikes!

Crawford is a Senior Communication/Media Studies major and Criminal Justice minor from Louisville, Kentucky. She is a Resident Assistant for Phillips Hall, a Women's Bowling Team co-captain, Student Ambassador, and an intern in the Alumni Relations office.

How to start a club

To be recognized as an official club/organization, the following must be submitted for record to the SGA Executive Cabinet: A. Signatures of at least ten (10) persons interested in and committed to the purpose of the proposed club/organization, B. Signature of proposed advisor(s), C. Constitution unique to the petitioning club/organization which states an article of purpose.

Once you have created a constitution and have a filled out the club information sheet please email it to SGA@lindsey.edu or bring it by the SGA Office in the Student Union Building. Your petition will then be placed on the agenda for the next Senate meeting, where it will be voted on.

Funds Request Form

    Please print off a copy of the fund's request and fill out all information completely and correctly. You may then bring the completed form by the SGA office or you may send an electronic copy to SGA@lindsey.edu. The appropriations committee will then decide on an appropriate amount of money to grant to the respective club/organization based on the request. If approved it will then be voted on by the Senate at the next meeting following the appropriations committee approval. Due to this lengthy process, it is recommended to submit a funds request 3 weeks before you actually need the money.
