Lindsey Wilson College currently hosts over 100 international students from over 40 different countries. With a total enrollment for the 2018 school year of 2,619 - including 1,103 residents in the College's resident's halls and apartments, this helps create a true global village environment on campus. For this reason, Lindsey Wilson is a great place to learn about American culture and an ideal place to interact with other people from all over the world. Lindsey Wilson also has a formal exchange program with schools in Japan, Northern Ireland, and South Korea. Every year several students come from these sister schools to study at LWC for either a semester or one year while pursuing their degrees at their home universities. Lindsey Wilson students can study at their overseas schools for a similar length of time.

Many Lindsey Wilson international students are student-athletes who participate in one of the college's 26 intercollegiate teams. Other international students are drawn to the college for the opportunity to study in a rural setting and become immersed in American culture.

Lindsey Wilson College welcomes applications from international students. International students who demonstrate a high level of English proficiency and a desire for an education will be considered for admission. International applicants must adhere to the following:

  • All international applications for admission to Lindsey Wilson College must be completed by the individual applying for the program. Friends or relatives may not act as intermediaries.
  • Students must submit a high school transcript and/or a diploma reflecting their graduation date, class rank, and grade point average. The document must be translated into English.
  • Students transferring from another college or university must submit all postsecondary education transcripts, including transcripts from language institutes. The transcripts must be translated into English.
  • All international students must submit an affidavit of financial support from a bank or employer reflecting available funds for college expenses or other proof that financial obligations will be met.

International students and students who have been out of high school one year or more and who are applying to undergraduate programs may have the American College Test (ACT) or the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) requirement waived. Students without scores from either the ACT or SAT may be required to take a series of placement tests on campus.

An acceptable level of English proficiency is required of all international students applying to undergraduate programs. One of the following methods may be used to demonstrate English proficiency:

  • TOEFL minimum score:
    • Internet-based (iBT): 45*,
    • Paper based: 450, or
    • Revised Paper-based: 45;
  • IELTS Band 5;
  • Duolingo 75
  • English is the student's native language; or
  • Student is from a TOEFL exempt country.
    • *Nursing requires iBT 83.
