Doctoral Program in Counselor Education & Supervision $754.00 per credit hour

All financial aid programs administered through the College require acceptance for admission to the College, completion of the Lindsey Wilson Financial Aid Application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students completing requirements by March 1 receive priority. Applications submitted after that date will be subject to availability of funds. Each applicant will be notified of financial aid eligibility. Awards will be made to qualified students until funds are depleted.

In accordance with federal regulations for students receiving federal assistance, Lindsey Wilson has a policy concerning a drug-free environment. This policy is available for review in the office of the Vice President for Administration and Finance.

Graduate Assistantships

The Graduate Assistant placement is designed as a learning milieu for the graduate student while assisting program faculty in providing a comprehensive program of academic integrity and providing services to the college and community. Regular, ongoing supervision will be provided. Each assistantship requires up to ten (10) hours per week for the academic year. Graduate assistants will observe the same holidays as paid staff. Oversight of assistantships is provided by the CES program director and the assigned supervisor(s).

Student Teaching

Teaching provides valuable opportunities for students in the CES program to gain college experience. Participation in the Counselor Education & Supervision program does not guarantee placement as a Student Instructor. Teaching opportunities are determined based on institutional need, as well the skills, dispositions, and availability of qualified and interested CES students. Teaching opportunities do not imply long term-term contractual obligations, either for teaching opportunities in future semesters or for full-time employment with Lindsey Wilson College.

Students must complete the first semester of coursework in the CES program prior to applying for teaching positions. Student Instructors may not teach more than one course per semester without special permission from the CES Program Director and his/her advisor. Student Instructors are restricted to undergraduate Human Services and Counseling courses. Students participating in Doctoral Internships may teach undergraduate and master's courses and may use their hours toward internship requirements. In these cases, Student Instructors are encouraged to teach courses with which they are less familiar.

Professional Development Funding

At its discretion, the CES Program may make resources (transportation, lodging, funding, etc....) available to support student attendance at professional events. These opportunities will be announced to students in advance of, and in relation to, specific professional events. Guidelines surrounding funding for an event will be included in the associated announcement.

Students utilizing these resources are expected to actively participate in the event(s) being supported by the program. In addition, students utilizing these resources are required to generate a one page summary of their experiences at the event, to be submitted electronically to the program director. These summaries may be used by the CES program for accreditation, marketing, or other program-related purposes. Students attending these events are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner that reflects their role as representatives of the CES program.
